The Nautical Research Guild is the largest American organization of master ship modelers and naval historians. As a member you will be part of that community with access to the latest historical research and model building techniques. Although the yearly membership cost is not very high, we know that there are many other things that you could do with the money. But if you like to build historically accurate ship models, it will be money well spent. Your membership helps to sponsor a wide variety of activities in the areas of nautical research and model ship building, including the Model Ship World forum, research grants, and the development of group projects. Four times a year you will receive the respected Nautical Research Journal with peer-reviewed academic articles on ship building, nautical history and the maritime arts, as well as detailed model ship building articles by some of the top ship modelers in the country. You can choose to receive the Journal as a collectable print edition, in a convenient digital edition, or both. Your membership includes free admission to the Guild's live online workshops and access to the online archive of past workshop recordings. Members can attend our annual conference where you will meet and exchange ideas with many of the authors and historians whose articles you have read, and enjoy maritime themed tours, historical and technical presentations, and the company of like-minded ship model builders and enthusiasts. Members also enjoy discounts on Guild books and other products, and Donor and higher members get special admission to maritime museums across the country. | Member Benefits at a Glance

We offer different membership options for each to ensure we offer fair pricing that covers the cost of mailing the Nautical Research Journal to you. For Canadian and international members, the Digital Only membership is often a great choice. It is the same price for U.S., Canadian and international residents, and sends you the Nautical Research Journal in an online format instead of a printed copy.
